The Berhanu Soccer Foundation provides financial help for boys and
girls in the Greater Washington-Baltimore area, between the ages of 9 and
16 years old, who love soccer, have talent for the game and wish to
develop their talent to its full potential. We do this in the form
of a grant made to the qualifying boy or girl’s soccer club/team. We
consider applications based on the following Qualification Criteria:
:: Demonstrated commitment to and passion for the sport of
soccer
:: Evident signs of actual or potential serious soccer skills
:: Financial need (based on income and family circumstances)
:: Good character references, in terms of conduct,
sportsmanship and leadership, both on and off the field
:: Willingness to be an ambassador for the Berhanu Soccer
Foundation, to help promote its mission and reputation
It should also be noted that while we focus on bringing the
younger players into the program, our intention is to help them
through their high school years- if they continue to meet the
qualifications. In the initial years of the Foundation’s life,
grants will be approved for boys and girls who play for club teams
playing in the Greater Washington-Baltimore area and throughout the
state of Maryland. As the program grows, we hope to expand our reach.
