Nominating a Player
Any player who qualifies can be nominated by his or her coach. The coach will need to work with the player and family to fill out the application form. The coach will then deliver the application to the parent club. The club will pass along all eligible applications to Berhanu Soccer Foundation.
The Berhanu Soccer Foundation will consider applications on behalf of boys and girls aged between 10 and 15 years old who meet the following qualification criteria:
:: Demonstrated commitment to, and passion for the sport of soccer
:: Evident signs of actual or potential serious soccer skills
:: Financial need (based on income and family circumstances)
:: Good character references, in terms of conduct, sportsmanship and leadership, both on and off the field.
:: Willingness to be an ambassador for the Berhanu Soccer Foundation, to help promote its mission and reputation.
In the initial years of the Fund’s life, grants will only be approved for boys and girls who play for club teams playing in the Greater Washington DC area and throughout the states of Maryland and Virginia.
